Mmm… Thanksgiving Leftovers

Fun Fact of the Day: Most NFL kickers are having a rough year, but not the Baltimore Ravens’ Justin Tucker. Yesterday, he tied an NFL record with 3 field goals of 50+ yards in a half, bringing him to a perfect 27-of-27 on field goals and 15-of-15 on extra points this season.

Today’s Rundown

What a delicious weekend for football!  Here’s what you missed while chowing down this Thanksgiving…

Week 12 highlights.

  • The winning streak continues.  On Thanksgiving, the Dallas Cowboys edged out the Washington Redskins 31-26 for their 10th straight win of the season. The team’s blazing hot rookies QB Dak Prescott and running back Ezekiel Elliott kept up the good work; each one had a pair of touchdowns.
  • You never forget your 200th. With last night’s victory over the N.Y. Jets 22-17, New England Patriots QB Tom Brady collected his 200th career win, tying him for the most wins in NFL history with Peyton Manning, who retired last season. The game was super close, because the Pats lost their top offensive weapon, tight end Rob Gronkowsi to a back injury mid-game. The team says the injury isn’t serious, but who knows? After all, Gronk missed the beginning of this season with a hamstring injury and last week’s game to a punctured lung.
  • A kick and a miss. Last night, the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Denver Broncos in a crazy overtime thriller 30-27. With just a minute left on the clock and the score still tied, the Broncos sent out their kicker for a super risky and extra-long 62-yard field goal attempt. He missed, which set up the Chiefs with good field positioning for their own field goal attempt. The Chiefs’ last second kick banged off the left upright, through the goal posts, and won them the game.

Week 13 highlights.
