Fun Fact of the Day: Last night, UConn’s women’s basketball team beat South Carolina to collect their 100th straight win, elongating the longest winning streak in NCAA history. UConn doesn’t just win. They dominate—56 of their wins have been by margins of 40+ points.

Today’s Rundown

I love it when we’re Cruzin’ together.  Say goodbye to a lovely NFL Cinderella story. Yesterday, the N.Y. Giants released wide receiver Victor Cruz. In 2010, Cruz started off as an undrafted free agent, who made the team after proving his worth in an incredible preseason. The next year he exploded onto the scene with 1,536 yards and his trademark salsa touchdown celebration. He continued to have 2 more impressive seasons, including a Super Bowl victory. Then his fairytale career came to a halt when he suffered season-ending injuries in 2014 and 2015. Last season, he finally made it back on the field, but he didn’t look like the same old Victor Cruz. Now, that he’s reached age 30, the Giants made the tough decision of dropping him to free up some salary cap space.

Disturbing deja vu. Jeffrey Sandusky, the adopted son of Jerry Sandusky, was arrested on a number of child sex abuse and child pornography charges. According to the police complaint, Jeffrey is accused of having sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 16. He also attempted to obtain explicit material from another minor, whose mother he dated for the past 6 years. If this troubling story is ringing a bell, that’s probably because Jeffrey’s father Jerry was convicted on 45 counts of sexually abusing 10 minors, when he was the defensive coordinator of Penn State’s football team. In 2012, Jerry was sentenced to 30-60 years in prison.

Ice, elevate, and dance?  Philadelphia 76ers big man Joel “The Process” Embiid suffered a minor meniscus tear and is expected to be out for the next few weeks. This is sad news for Embiid who’s having a breakout debut season, after he sat on the sidelines for the past 2 years with foot injuries. But it seems like he’s not taking recovery mode too seriously. This weekend Embiid was pulled up on stage at rapper Meek Mill’s concert and started dancing around shirtless. Let’s just say, the 76ers front office was not amused.
